Longevity and good luck by eating delicious food?

The lives of the residents of Yaowarat in Bangkok are heavily influenced by ancient Thai and far east Asian traditions, as well as customs to which they strictly adhere. Much of their cuisine use a blend of Thai and Asian healing herbs, based on a heritage passed on from generation to generation to ensure good health and longevity. The ancient concepts of Yin and Yang are incorporated into their culinary methods as a way of creating meals that balance the duality of the body. For them, food is an essential expression of their culture and each ingredient is given hidden and enchanted meanings. Long noodles symbolize a long and healthy life and are used to pay homage to various gods. On New Year’s Day, elaborate meals include turnip cakes, mussels, and fish maws for good luck. For dessert, there are red dates which sweeten their lives. Can these ancient customs truly bring you good luck? We may never know or be able to prove it, but we still wish to share with you our Yaowarat-inspired exotic dishes and their distinctive flavors. Who knows when they’ll bring you the good fortune we all aspire to! Welcome to Sookk, Yao-wa-rat cuisine. and “Kin-Hai-Ar-Royh Na”/ bon appetite.
